Marco Polo Norway: the Travel Guide with Insider Tips

Norway - a country where the pace of life is different. It is paradise for nature lovers, shaped by environmental and climatic extremes. The beauty of the landscape, the culture rooted in ancient traditions and the hospitable people make Norway a fascinating destination. This practical, pocket-sized guide leads you to the beaches and islands, to mighty glaciers and vast plateaus, and along the spectacular fjords that cut right in to the mountains. Norway offers a wide range of attractions: skiing and hiking can be just as much a part of your holiday as the unique stave churches or a cruise along the endless coast, as seen in the Trips & Tours chapter.

The Insider Tips reveal where you can play golf under the midsummer sun and where you can find Scandinavia's smallest church. The Best Of pages highlight unique aspects of Norway, recommend what to do for free, have tips for rainy days and for where you can relax and unwind. You will also find out What's Hot in Norway, from innovative comics to cool eco fashion. Finally, the Dos & Don'ts point out some of the things you need to be aware of and watch out for when visiting the country.

Marco Polo Norway provides comprehensive coverage of the country. To help you get around there's a detailed road atlas inside, a useful street map of Oslo in the backcover, plus a handy pull-out map. A must-have for all travellers, including those who haven't bought a travel guide in the past.

Discover the best hotels, restaurants, and trendy places to go, plus shopping tips, suggestions for those on a tight budget, details of all the sports and activities on offer and ideas for Travel with Kids. Also contains: the Perfect Route, Festival & Events, Travel Tips, Links, Blogs, Apps & more, Norwegian phrasebook and index.

Norway Travel Guide

This guide will help you move around Norway with ease and enable you to enjoy your stay in Norway. We have focused on all the tips you need to get a visa to Norway, get car on arrival at the airport, find meals and places to dine at, and the most amazing places to tour.
Travelling isn't always just about relaxation. It can be about finding yourself, exploring cultures, meeting people, understanding the traditions, comparing ways of life, encountering new languages, getting to taste new cuisines and seeing the vast expanses of nature and the creations of man. Life could be called the culmination of all the experience one has in the world.
There are many places one could travel to, but one of the most interesting and most visited places of all the world is Europe. The exotic nature of Europe is what has been interesting people for centuries. One of the best places in Europe is Norway. Norway is one of three Scandinavian countries, and is known for its beautiful and long extending coasts. Surrounded by Finland, Sweden, and Russia, it is world renowned for its beauty and scenery. The fjords in Norway are famous world over and are well admired for their rocky areas. Norway is a large country with a population of just 5 million and thus sparsely populated. One of the best times to visit the country could be in the winters, which give you an amazing feel of the cold and the snow.
The places we will focus on here are: Lofoten, Scandinavia, Spitsbergen, museums, national parks, Bergen, Oslo, Tromsø, Dovre Mountains and much more. You will have a chance to interact with the Norwegians and learn their culture and festivals. It is not only a pleasant place to take your family for holidays but also a place to enjoy the world's beauty.
Travel to Norway is easiest using air transport rather than the roads or trains. Even in Norway itself, people travel from town to town using air travel. The prices of the tickets vary, whether you are traveling to the northern part of the country or the south. It is my hope that this book will be your companion throughout your travel and stay in Norway. Enjoy!
