Grenada Travel Information
Grenada is an island country located in the southeastern
part of the Caribbean Sea. The country consists of the island
of Grenada and six smaller nearby islands. Grenada is sometimes
known as the Spice Isle, because it is important producer of
several different
spices including
allspice
cinnamon,
cloves,
mace, and
nutmeg (it is the second largest producer of nutmeg in the world
after Indonesia),
As of 2005,
the country had an estimated population of 110,000.
The capital and largest city on the islands, St. George's,
has a population of about 7,500.
Grenada is today popular tourist destination, and is a frequent stop
for cruise ships touring the Caribbean Sea. Tourism is now Grenada's
principal source of foreign exchange.
