The Kingdom of Morocco is
is a North African country. It has land borders with
Algeria,
Western Sahara (which is defacto largely Moroccan controlled),
and Spain
(there are three Spanish enclaves in North Africa:
Ceuta, Melilla, and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera).
If Western Sahara is considered
Moroccan territory (a claim not recognized by many countries or the
United Nations), then Morocco also shares a border
with Mauritania.
As of 2009, the population of Morocco was estimated as being 31,993,000. The country's capital is Rabat, which, as of 2009, had a population of about 627,000. The largest city and chief port of Morocco is Casablanca, which, as of 2009, had a population somewhere in the region of 4.5 million.
