Jordan Flag The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a country located in the Middle East. The Sultanate of Oman is a country located in the southeastern corner of the Arabian Peninisula. It borders Iraq, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the West Bank, as well having a short coast on the Gulf of Aqaba (part of the Red Sea) where the country's only seaport, Aqaba, is located.

As of 2009, the population of Jordan was estimated as being 6,316,000. The country's capital and largest city is Amman, which, as of 2005, had a population of 1,919,000.
