Tunisia is well-known as a package destination but, for those who care to look further than its beach resorts, if offers far more. Beyond the excellent beaches and the rows of comfortable low-rise hotels lies a country of tremendous variety. The north is a landscape of green mountains, rivers and lakes. The south is dominated by arid desert with sporadic green oases and the spectacular dunes of the Sahara’s Grand Erg Oriental.
