Guatemala
(Spanish: República de Guatemala) is a country in central America.
It shares land borders with
Belize,
El Salvador,
Honduras, and
Mexico,
as well as having a short coast on the Caribbean Sea, and a longer coast
on the Pacific Ocean.
As of 2009,
the population was an estimated 13,276,517.
The capital and largest city, Guatemala City, according to the
2002 census,
had a population of 942,348, with a total of 2,318,080 people living in the city and surrounding metropolitan area.
