Botswana Travel Information
The Republic of Botswana
is a landlocked country in southern Africa.
It shares land borders with
Namibia,
Zambia, and
Zimbabwe.
It is one the most stable and economically
successful of African countries, having regularly held
free and fair elections since independence in
1966,
as well as having achieved and sustained impressive economic growth rates
for many years.
As of 2009,
the population of Botswana was estimated as being
1,990,876.
The country's capital and largest city is Gaborone, which,
according to the
2001
census had a population of 186,007.
